Balvenie sits on the same ground as its sister distilleries Glenfiddich and Kininvie, although the spirit they produce is noticeably different. They still malt their own barely on site, one of very few distilleries to do so. Even though this only amounts to around 10% of their total barely, Balvenie believe this adds a contributing flavour to their whisky.
