The spirit of Clynelish is known for being particularly oily and waxy, this is thanks to precipitation of oils in the feints receiver. Most distilleries would clean this regularly, but Clynelish has found it gives the spirit the perfect mouth feel for their whisky. Most commonly used for Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, Clynelish is another one of Diageo’s big powerhouses.
