Fettercairn is part of the Whyte and Mackay portfolio and large quantities of their spirit is used to go into blends. There was been a concerted effort to ensure Fettercairn has a single malt presence. They had expressions Fior and Fasque that were replaced by age statements from 12-50 years. Over the stills they have a cooling ring which sprays water down the outside of the stills and enhances reflux, leading to a lighter style.
