Glen Scotia Distillery

Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Region

Campbeltown

Owner

Hillhouse Capital Management

Founded

1832 | Stewart and Galbraith Family

Campbeltown, which was formerly the whisky capital of the world, only had 2 distilleries until modern times. These were Glen Scotia and Springbank. Glen Scotia was only saved by the skin of their teeth when the many distilleries of Campbeltown fell. Bloch Brothers, a blender from Glasgow bought the distillery for their products. They now produce a number of different styles including both peated and unpeated malts. The majority of investment into Glen Scotia is in the form of casks.
