You would have thought that Jura would produce a peated style due to the large quantities of peat on the island but the distillery was build originally to satisfy the needs of blenders. Almost every family on the island is part of the Jura team, be that in production of tourism. Jura, meaning Deer Island, has a growing fan base and recently have undergone a revamp with new peated and unpeated expressions.
