Macduff distillery has not been around for as long as you would expect. The distillery only opened in 1960 during the whisky boom at that point. It was taken over by Martini in the 70’s and ever since has been an integral part of the William Lawson’s blend. The single malt released today is bottled as The Deveron, after the river Deveron which runs close by.
