Mortlach is known for its strange distillation techniques which they claim results in a 2.81 times distillation. This method also produces a very meaty, sulphur filled spirit which has proved popular in the past for hardcore whisky lovers. In 2014 they embarked on a rebrand which didn’t go down too well with many consumers due to their higher price points and removal of the adored 16yr old.
