Old Pulteney Distillery

Old Pulteney is known these days as the maritime malt which reflects their traditional style of sea salt and wax. The distillery itself is located in the fishing town of Wick of the northeast of Scotland. For a long time the spirit was predominantly used for blending but since Inver House took over their single malt presence has grown greatly. In 1930 the town of Wick had its own prohibition similar to the of the USA, although this lasted 25 years (almost double the time of its American counterpart).
