There are two types of valuation available – basic and advanced. Based on a credit system of £2.40 per credit, users are required to pay 1 credit for a basic valuation and 2 credits for an advanced valuation. Credits can be purchased in bundles to reduce the cost per valuation.
A basic valuation contains information on the most recently recorded sale price and sale date for a specific bottle. An advanced valuation provides collectors and investors with a more detailed report including data on sale history, bottle performance and distillery dynamics.
Once a valuation has been requested and paid for, a report is generated and issued via email within minutes.
Each valuation is based on the actual recorded UK auction sale values and displays precisely what each selected bottle has previously sold for since 2008. All values are ‘hammer’ prices so they don’t include any fees or charges associated with an auction sale. The database is continually updated to provide the most up to date values available, based on single malt Scotch whisky bought and sold at auction in the UK.
